Again blagged from another forum (MCB), not my doing:

Part 1 of 3 - weights and measures.

Part 2 of 3 will be a full bounce test.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E87Gw3OKxa4

Part 3 of 3 will be the actual shooting of the GIMilsim gun and distance / breakage real world testing to see if it matches with charted data.

To stay within the law a paintball marker must not be fired above 330fps when using an average weight paintball, this equates to 12 ft/lbs. All tournament markers are restricted to a maximum velocity of 300fps, which equates to 9.9ft/lbs and site markers should be used at between 250-280fps to be safe for customers. This equates to 7ft/lbs-8.7ft/lbs.

just wondering what effect that will have on everyones theorys of equivilent performance by turning up velocity to compensate for a smaller ball. i know that because of the weight of the ball will be less the math will be different.

but what would be the maximum we would legaly be allowed to fire at

If the projectile weighs 1.21g, in theory you could fire it at 538fps and still not exceed 12ft/lbs of energy!

to much physics for me :) isnt it the old 1kg of feathers 1kg lead ???

to be honest the way they bounce on that video i wouldnt wanna be hit by one .
with a smaller diameter surely that will make the shell harder to break ? more bounces?

Another look at the paint from Punkworks.

Also the shell thickness was measured over on MCB and was 0.014.....the same as .68.

Which would explain why it bounces so badly in the drop test.
