Cant get reg off Bottle

Not sure what make bottle it is but it looks to me like an old one, Reg is made by protoyz, I have tried putting reg into hot water and trying to unscrew but that didnt work :S can anyone else give me any suggestions please!

Soft jawed vice and perhaps a strap wrench............

If you don't have a strap wrench I found that one of the rubber drive belts in a dyson hoover does just as well.
