Getting to Fed Cup

My team is flying in from Ireland tonight, we're landing at East Midlands Airport and we're staying at the Travelodge down the road from Ancaster in Sleaford. Does anyone know of a bus service or if a train that goes to the area? I can't seem to find any...

It's a really messy route. Ancaster is a tricky place to get to via public transport.

Your best bet is probably to get to newark-on-trent that way, then get a taxi.

Screw it, by the time you've payed all of those bus fares you may as well have got a taxi direct. Yeah I was thinking of a taxi alright, there's 7 of us though. Taxi seems to work out at £88 quid for a 4 seater. Pretty expensive...

You can get a train.

Sleaford(SLR) to Ancaster(ANC)
06.36 gets you to Ancaster for 06.45.
You will then need to walk from the station down to where the site is.

Hi Gassy, the problem isn't getting from the hotel to the field, it's getting from the airport to the hotel....seems like an impossible feat!

East midlands airport have a skylink bus that will take you to Nottingham railway station where you can get a train to Sleaford.

Thanks for the help guys, unfortunately due to the crap time we land at ( 10pm ) it looks like it's a minibus taxi for us as there's no trains running that late.

Would it work out cheaper to hire a car/van at the airport.
